About the archive
Balance was written as a single continuous journal. The earliest entries are shorter and more occasional; from 2005 onward they settle into a regular rhythm of essays about classes, shoots and suspension, with photographs from the same sessions.
A handful of photograph sets that the original pages linked to were never captured by the Internet Archive. Where that has happened, the journal entry says so rather than leaving a broken image. All surviving writing and photography is reproduced here in full.
