Before I launch into what's on my mind for this update I want to tell everyone that L.A. Rope Bondage Dojo was an unqualified, sold-out, success! As you may have noticed, I haven't updated in several months. I've been truly hanging in the balance with decisions regarding the future of this site, trying to decide how to proceed and still accomplish my goals and desires here. Over the summer the Justice Department issued a set of rules that would make it very difficult for adult Websites to maintain proper model records. There is currently an injunction against the implementation and enforcement of these regulations but I've still been weighing whether or not I should continue DeLano Bound as a pay site because the record keeping regulations are very different for noncommercial adult sites. The deciding factor is this: I'm not making any money here anyway -- not even enough to cover the expenses of producing this site -- so why put myself through one more hassle? I've still got the CDA community standards statute hanging over my head; I don't need another headache in trying to exercise my artistic freedom.
So, that being said, DeLano Bound is now a free Website. If you're thinking, "well, that's a shame; I was going to join next week", stick around. I'm going to figure out some way you can donate if you want.
O f course, this means I've had to rethink the content of the site. Not the nature of the content but the quantity and the frequency of updates. The number of photo shoots I have to do to update monthly, while nowhere near as costly as most other sites, is still a financial hurdle for me, since this is all coming out of my own pocket. I'm going to make updates when I can and the number of galleries and pictures per gallery will be smaller than they are now.
Does this mean I've changed the way I feel about displaying my adventures in bondage and connection? No. I still love rope bondage and the connections I've forged in my explorations. I still want to share this with whoever is viewing the site (and that number is more than I ever considered possible, given its non-sexual nature). I have many more shoots to post, both with me as a rope bottom and as a rope top. Over the last few weeks I've had some excellent experiences with Skye and Jordan (members of my leather family) and with Mayan Lee (who was in the gallery which launched this site). I have more foot/leg bondage with Miss M and some wonderful work with Yin, Senju and Emma yet to post. All these will see the light of day in due time. You'll just have to be patient with my new growing pains.
